Prostheses – New quality of life through modern technology
What are prostheses?
Why do I need prostheses?
Prostheses can be used in various situations and for different needs, such as:
After amputations: They allow people who have lost a limb due to accident, illness, or congenital malformations to regain mobility and independence.
Improving quality of life: By replacing a missing body part, prostheses can help boost self-confidence and enhance enjoyment of life.
Support in daily life: Modern prostheses are designed to enable a wide range of everyday movements and activities, from simple walking to complex athletic performance.
Customization for individual needs: Prostheses can be tailored to the wearer’s specific needs and lifestyle to ensure maximum comfort and functionality.
Below-knee prosthesis
After below-knee amputations (transtibial amputation), various prosthetic designs are used.
The main differences lie in how the prosthesis is attached to the body. Liner systems made of silicone and polyurethane are among the most commonly used socket systems today. Fixation is typically achieved via a distal locking mechanism or a sealing knee sleeve. Below-knee prostheses with a soft socket are less frequently used; in these systems, fixation is achieved with a supracondylar cuff that extends over the knee.
The necessary foot systems are selected based on individual requirements.
Chopart prosthesis
A relatively lightweight prosthesis made of carbon fiber laminate for physiological, dynamic force transmission.
Provides physiological support and cushioning for the residual limb, with customizable color and shape design, easy handling, and maintenance.
By stiffening the ankle joint, the pressure on the remaining forefoot/hindfoot is reduced, resulting in improved walking performance.
Designed for foot reconstruction after amputation at the Chopart level, transcalcaneal level (Pirogoff-Spitzy amputation), and ankle level (Syme amputation).
Ortho prosthesis
Prosthesis for leg length compensation (over 6cm).
Arm prosthesis
Arm prostheses are assistive devices that replace a missing part of the upper limb.
This can range from a cosmetic finger prosthesis to a fully functional forearm prosthesis with an elbow joint.
Our prosthetic solutions for the upper limb are designed and manufactured based on the individual’s specific needs and conditions.
